Sunday Services, or "What should I expect when I come to Holbrook this Sunday?"
The short answer to what you should expect when you come to Holbrook this Sunday, or any Sunday, is to be warmly welcomed to our church. Everyone is more than happy to talk with you and to answer any questions that you may have.
Specifics about Holbrook's Sunday Service - -
Sunday Service at Holbrook Bible Church is a time when we, as a body of believers, come together not only to worship the Lord, but also to enjoy the fellowship of others.
The Service begins with a musical worship of the Lord. This is followed by a celebration of praises by the congregation of those things that the Lord has helped them accomplish in their lives, happy events, new jobs, or anything that the member feels the Lord helped them accomplish. We celebrate birthdays and anniversaries at this time as well.
We also invite prayer requests for those who need the intervention of the Lord in their lives or the lives of those that they hold dear to their hearts. The ones who have prayer requests do not have to speak as to what they need prayer for as there is also a invitation for any unspoken prayer requests. Following these things there is more praise of the Lord through music.
Pastor Scott Thompson then delivers the Sunday sermon.
Our church does not "pass the plate" during the Sunday Service. We have a tithing box in the church for that purpose. Give as the Lord leads you to.
Immediately following Pastor Scott's Sermon we come together in fellowship by sharing a meal with one another. There is the "official" potluck on the first Sunday of every month, but if your heart leads you to bring food to share for the Sunday meal, you are welcome to do so.
The last Sunday of every month we celebrate Holy Communion.
